Ongoing PKI Projects for Fundraising and Donations :
Project # 1: Funding for setting up a state of the art PKI Research Lab:
PKI’s Team consists of men and women who received the most advanced training available in the world, in their respective fields, and then returned to Pakistan in order to fulfill their religious, social, moral and professional obligation towards their fellow countrymen. Many like-minded philanthropists joined hands with them in their common patriotic goal.
PKI has undertaken the mission to set a precedent in this regard. We have had multiple meetings with the Government and Health Ministry officials in this context, but then decided to fulfill our responsibility to the best of our ability. At PKI we see a lot of cancer patients and one of the missions of PKI is to establish a state of the art Research Center in Pakistan.
Pakistan is very rich in herbs and other natural products. Most of the medicines are derived from these plants all over the world. One specific example is the role of “Paththar chatt herb” which is used by Hakeems to dissolve stones. Cutting edge research, at the molecular level, keeping international standards in mind, using this natural resource, can generate valuable revenue for the country.
In the light of the above discussion, you are invited to join hands with PKI in a joint effort to rectify the situation to the best of our abilities. PKI has launched a Research Project, and funding is required for one of the components of this project, namely the PKI Research Lab.
2. Project # 2: Funding of Transplant patients for ongoing Immuno-suppressant Medicines in order to prevent rejection of the Transplanted Kidney: Our Transplant patients, those that are treated independently by PKI, as well as those treated under PKI-PBM Joint Project, face the grave threat of losing the donated organ when these patients are no longer able to afford the Immunosuppressant medications needed to prevent transplant rejection.
Immunosuppression is needed lifelong once a transplant is done, in order to prevent rejection of the precious life-giving organ donated by a loving relative. As a result, some of these patients are forced to sell their homes and reduced to a life of beggary, with the constant threat of kidney rejection hanging over their heads like a sword.
Tragically some of our patients are even forced to refuse transplant when informed of this ongoing cost once the transplant is done. PKI wants to go a step ahead now, and offer Immunosuppression coverage to those of our patients who are the most underprivileged.
You are requested to fund only 10 of PKI’s most deserving patients:
Approx. monthly cost of Immunosuppression / patient: Rs. 25,000/-
Annual cost / patient: Rs. 300,000/-
Total annual cost of 10 patients: Rs. 3,000,000/-
